1. Conquer the Kotor Serpentine Road and experience the ultimate road trip thrill

Let's start with a road trip that's more thrilling than a roller coaster ride. The Kotor serpentine road is an adventure you won't soon forget - with 25 switchbacks, it's not just a drive; it's a heart-pounding experience. This is one of the most scenic rides you can have in Montenegro, and the views on the Bay are simply spectacular. This road is frequently used for filming high-end car commercials.

This road was made by the Austrians back in the end of 19th century, and it's renowned for its mind-blowing views. It's the kind of drive that turns into a legendary story you'll share with friends for years to come. If you start in Kotor, you will be going from sea-level to almost 1000 meters high up in the mountains, reaching Njegusi village.

2. Visit Perast, UNESCO heritage sight that will amaze you

Perast is like stepping into a picture-perfect time capsule. This charming town seems to have stopped in time, with its elegant old buildings and churches that look straight out of a fairy tale – there are 16 baroque palaces and 19 churches.

As if that's not enchanting enough, you can take a boat to visit two tiny islands nearby. One of them, Our Lady of the rocks island was created by sinking old ships loaded with rocks - how's that for a unique history? It's like walking into a history book, but with a dash of magic. The other island, St. George is just as impressive with its legends and stories.

3. Try the best Montenegrin cuisine from the Adriatic coast

Prepare for a culinary voyage through Montenegro's Mediterranean flavors. The best place to try the seafood in Montenegro? Try the restaurants located just next to water in some of the beautiful villages of Boka Bay – Perast, Dobrota, Prcanj.

Another delicacy: grilled octopus

The main dish, which consists of whole freshly caught sea bass, sea bream, or grouper fish, paired with boiled potatoes and chard (dalmatian garnish) is the best one to try. And if you are not a big fan of the fish, try octopus, prawns or calamari. Most restaurants will prepare them grilled, however, some of them have slow-cooked octopus in sauce, prawns on buzara, calamari stuffed with prawns – our personal favorite! Make sure to ask for marinada, a must-try Montenegrin sauce which goes perfectly with any seafood.
